MEXICAN JAY |
||||||||
This species has two races. The Texas race is smaller, darker, and bluer than the Arizona race. Both are now Aphelocoma wollweberi, while the more southern former subspecies that occurs in central and souther Mexico is, as of July, 2011, a separate species called Transvolcanic Jay, retaining the scientific name Aphelocoma ultramarina. |
