WESTERN MEADOWLARK
(Sturnella neglecta)

 
Western Meadowlark is very similar in appearance to Eastern Meadowlark, but differs by range and entirely
different song. Western lacks the Eastern's white malar stripe separating the yellow throat from the brown face.
State bird of Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, and Wyoming.
