WILSON'S SNIPE
(Gallinago delicata - formerly Gallinago gallinago)

 
Formerly considered to be a subspecies of the Common Snipe, from which Wilson's Snipe was subsequently split. The keen marksmanship required to hunt these highly camouflaged species gave rise to the vernacular term "sniper."
