A now-retired physician, Dr. Schwarz pursued a busy career in the practice of ophthalmology on Boston's north shore until 2000. He now divides the year between the Connecticut shore and the east coast of Florida. A life-long nature enthusiast and avid boater and fisherman, he has also pursued white-water river rafting, and is a proficient scuba diver. His latest endeavors combine the outdoor challenge of finding and identifying birds with the versatility of digital photography.
