Black-whiskered Vireo

Black-whiskered VireoApril 20:  Black-whiskered Vireo is a sought-after Florida specialty, common in the spring and summer in the native coastal hammocks. To my surprise I found one this morning at Green Cay Wetlands, which is six miles inland and surrounded by development. Also present was one cuckoo, which flew before I could get a binocular view, but I’m fairly sure it was a Yellow-billed.
