Connecticut Warbler – Florida Atlantic University

Connecticut WarblerMay 11:  After six years of frustration and near misses trying to get some decent photos of a Connecticut Warbler during its annual May Florida migration, patience finally paid off early this morning on the campus of FAU in Boca Raton. Colin Hughes was alert enough to spot this bird in this unlikely location yesterday morning, and kind enough to provide me with the heads-up. Three hours of observation yesterday resulted in a few good looks, but no usable photos. However, this morning the bird was still present, and after having studied its behavior the previous day, I had learned its routine so as to be able to anticipate its movements and position myself accordingly. The results were gratifying.
