Green Cay Wetlands – Northern Waterthrush

Northern Waterthrush - yellow adultTricolored-Heron fledglingsApril 23:  No volume of migrants yet in Palm Beach County. Best bird of the day this afternoon at Green Cay Wetlands in Boynton Beach was a very yellow Northern Waterthrush, the yellowest I Mottled Duck familyhave ever seen. There was a nice group of three fledgling Tricolored-Herons posing for photos and a full family of Mottled Ducks. Along with the regulars, today’s list included Black & White and Prairie Warblers, White-winged Dove, Painted Bunting, Roseate Spoonbill, and Black-bellied Whistling Duck.
