Mexican Chickadee

ABA 2

(Poecile sclateri)

Distinguished by very extensive black bib and gray underparts. North American presence limited exclusively to high elevations in the Chiricahua Mountains of the Southeastern corner of Arizona and southwestern corner of New Mexico. Difficult species to observe as it tends to remain high up in the canopy in the tallest mature trees.
