Brown-capped Rosy-Finch

ABA 2

(Leucosticte australis)

Brown-capped Rosy-Finch has the smallest range of the three North American Rosy-Finch species. It breeds in the high Rockies in Colorado and southern Wyoming, but in the winter also extends just into northern New Mexico. Unlike Black and Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches, it lacks the contrasting gray on the upper face and rear crown.
