Ross’s Gull

ABA 3

(Rhodostethia rosea)

The ethereally beautiful pink gull of the high Arctic, Ross’s Gull breeds in Siberia but may be seen during early October migration along the north coast of Alaska, notably Barrow. Because of both its unusual beauty and inaccessibility, it occupies a high place on the wish list of North American, if not the world’s, birders.
