Common Ringed Plover

ABA 2

(Charadrius hiaticula)

Native to Siberia and Greenland, Common Ringed Plover may sometimes be seen on Saint Lawrence Island in Alaska.  It is quite similar to the familiar Semipalmated Plover, but has a wider breast band, a longer “candy corn” bill, and a prominent white supercilium.
