Fox Sparrow (thick-billed)

The thick-billed (megarhyncha) subspecies of Fox Sparrow is found in California and western Oregon. Its coloration is similar to the Slate-colored Fox Sparrow subspecies, but it has a much larger conical bill that is also noticeably gray in color. This subspecies itself additionally has its own five subgroups with differing ranges within California and Oregon.
