Surfbird

ABA 1

(Calidris virgata - formerly Aphriza virgata)

Although it nests inland in Alaska and the Yukon, Surfbird is more often seen in its non-breeding (basic) plumage in small flocks along the pacific coast on headland rocks where there is pounding surf.
