Vaux’s Swift

ABA 1

(Chaetura vauxi)

A west coast counterpart to the Chimney Swift with its tailless “cigar with wings” in-flight appearance, Vaux’s also favors chimneys for nighttime roosting. Watching an entire flock spiraling down into a chimney en masse at breakneck speed is an amazing sight to behold.
