Nuttall’s Woodpecker

Nuttall’s Woodpecker closely resembles Ladder-backed Woodpecker, but is found only in California, and in forest habitat rather than desert.

    I have spotted a pair of Nuttall woodpeckers in my backyard in Sherman Oaks! I was so excited upon hearing a different bird call. Looked up and they were both in some dead limbs in my old walnut tree.
