May 5: Today we add a new species, Black-faced Grassquit, a rare visitor to south Florida from the tropics, currently being seen at Bill Baggs State Park at the tip of Key Biscayne,
FL. Many warblers there today, but although there were some forty birders searching, not a single Connecticut Warbler was found although five were present there yesterday when of course I was not. Also today, a Gray Kingbird, and one female Bobolink on the grass by the parking lot.
