May 5: Visited Seacrest Scrub Natural Area in Boynton Beach this morning following a report yesterday of a male Western Spindalis, but the bird wasn’t seen despite quite a few people searching for it, some of whom had driven a considerable distance. There were some scattered warblers. mostly Blackpolls, but the best bird of the outing turned out to be a resplendently bright male Scarlet Tanager.
