The much-beloved talisman of the Galápagos, Blue-footed Booby is sometimes seen in California on the southern coast or at the Salton Sea, and is also resident in the Sea of Cortez. It is noted for its arrow-like plunges when feeding, and its unique foot-lifting and “sky pointing” mating ritual.
