Little Egret is a Eurasian species only rarely seen in North America. It superficially resembles Snowy Egret but is somewhat larger and has a heavier bill, darker thicker legs, no yellow lores, and two telltale head plumes. When one or both plumes are lost in late summer, a Little Egret can easily go unnoticed in a flock of Snowy Egrets with which it will likely be keeping company.
