Reddish Egret – dark morph

(Egretta rufescens)

The Reddish Egret is North America’s least common regularly-occurring heron. Mostly solitary, it is recognized by its pink bill, shaggy plumage, and unique conspicuous dancing behavior  in shallow water. It occurs in both reddish-colored and white morphs.
