Hoary Redpoll

ABA 2

(Carduelis hornemanni)

Hoary Redpoll is a paler version of its cousin, the Common Redpoll. Both are breeders of the far north, and where these two finches’ ranges coincide, the two are often seen in mixed flocks, but Hoary only rarely extends as far south as the lower 48 states, even in winter.
