Found from Washington State to Alaska, Glaucous-winged Gull is a large gull with relatively pale coloring and gray wing tips. It shares range with Western, Glaucous, and Herring Gulls and hybridizes with all three, making gull identification in this area confusing. In some places Glaucous-winged X Western Gull hybrids known as “Olympic Gull” are actually more common than either parent species.
