The world’s smallest gull, Little Gull is a northern Eurasian species but a few are seen in North America annually. Breeding adults have a completely black head, while immatures show a dark cap and black ear spot, as well as a characteristic dark ulnar bar. Sightings of Little Gull are usually of an individual or two keeping company with Bonaparte’s Gulls.
