As of July, 2021, Mew Gull has been split into two species – Short-billed Gull of North America and Common Gull of Asia and Europe. A breeder of Alaska and the far north, Short-billed Gull can also be seen in fall and winter along the pacific coast. It is characterized by small overall size, yellow legs, a small yellow bill, and a large white spot within the black on the wing tip.
