Lucifer Hummingbird

(Calothorax lucifer)

One of the smallest hummingbirds, Lucifer Hummingbird is recognized by its noticeably decurved bill and the male’s purple gorget.  In the U.S. it is seen regularly in only a very few spots in Southest Arizona and Big Bend National Park, Texas.
