Yellow-breasted Chat makes unique non-musical, disjointed, unsonglike sounds. It was considered North America’s largest member of the wood-warbler family, but as of July, 2017 has been placed in a new family (Icteriidae) by itself. The new family name should not be confused with the needlessly similar-sounding blackbird family name (Icteridae).
