Rosy-faced Lovebird is native to Africa – specifically Angola, Namibia, and the northwest corner of South Africa, however the species was introduced in the metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona area in the 1980’s and has become established there. Currently the population in the greater Phoenix area numbers about 2,500 birds, which may be found in various parks and residential neighborhoods.
