Montezuma Quail

ABA 2

(Cyrtonyx montezumae)

The secretive, harlequin-faced  Montezuma Quail occurs locally in southern Arizona, southern New Mexico, and several areas of south Texas. It can sometimes be seen crossing a road, but generally hides in tall grass where it remains unseen except when accidentally flushed.
