Red Junglefowl

(Gallus gallus)

The Red Junglefowl, now found in Hawaii, is the main progenitor of  today’s domestic chicken. They are especially common on the island of Kauai and are often seen in public places including on the grounds of hotels where the roosters crow not just in the early morning but all day long.
