Sharp-tailed Grouse


(Tympanuchus phasianellus)

Found locally in the western US and more widespread in Canada, Sharp-tailed Grouse is aptly named with its sharply pointed white tail. When displaying, males show a purple air sac and drum with their wings widely spread.
