Hawaiian Coot

An endangered species, Hawaiian Coot, not be confused with American Coot, can be found in wetland areas on all the Hawaiian Islands. The faceplate can be either all white or white with a red forehead bulb. The species is known to Hawaiians as “Alae Kea.”
