Little Stint

ABA 4

(Calidris minuta)

Little Stint is a rare Eurasian visitor to North America. When discovered it is found near the shore on mudflats, and must be carefully picked out from the larger numbers of Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers with which it tends to congregate. It has a more golden-orange plumage than Semipalmated and black legs which distinguish it from Least.
