The nocturnal Long-eared Owl is one of our least frequently observed owls, spending the day quietly roosting in dense thickets where it simply blends into its surroundings and goes completely undetected. It is notoriously difficult to find. Real-time posting of the location of day-roosting owl sites on the internet is actively discouraged so as not to unduly disturb the birds.
