Thick-billed Vireo

ABA 4

(Vireo crassirostris)

Thick-billed Vireo is a rare visitor to south Florida from the Bahamas. It is superficially similar to the familiar White-eyed Vireo, but in addition to its namesake heavy bill, is chunkier and more robust in appearance, lacks the white throat, has dark instead of white irides, and its “spectacles” are incomplete above the eye and white instead of yellow.
