The species formerly known as Winter Wren was split in 2010 into three separate species – Winter Wren (Troglodytes hyemalis), Pacific Wren (Troglodytes pacificus, and (old world) Eurasian Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes – the original scientific name). These birds are tiny and perfectly camouflaged to blend in with dead leaves.
