Magnificent Frigatebird

(Fregata magnificens)

Magnificent Frigatebird can be found over water in south Florida out to the Keys and Dry Tortugas, and also seasonally along the gulf coast.  It is a graceful and tireless flyer and can stay aloft for days without landing.  Males have a distinctive red “gular” throat pouch which can be enormousely inflated for courting display.
