This section features the specialty birds of the Galápagos Islands. Since a number of these species can also be found elsewhere in the world, those unique species found nowhere else are marked with an asterisk (*). Species that are very widespread elsewhere (e.g. Great Blue-Heron) have purposely been omitted here.
