Northern Beardless-Tyrannulet is a very small tropical flycatcher, found in the U.S. only in the Texas lower Rio Grande Valley and southeast Arizona. It gets its curious name from the absence of rictal bristles (small stiff specialized barbless feathers at the base of the bill) found in most other flycatchers.
