        A Spot-breasted Oriole in New York state would be unprecedented. In the US they are known only in south Florida, and even there they are very local and not common. My guess is you had a Baltimore Oriole, unless you saw the bird while visiting in Florida.

    Great photos

    Orioles come into my tropical garden along the river every winter spring and I just love their complex melodic songs and bright coloring. Your photos are the best I have seen. My sad phone camera never seems to get sharp images. I miss my digital SLR camera with optical lenses.

      Glad you like the photos, Neil. Cell phone cameras have gotten better and better, but not adequate for good bird photography. For one thing, you need a fast shutter speed.
