Calliope Hummingbird


(Selasphorus calliope - formerly Stellula calliope)

At 3.25 inches, Calliope Hummingbird is the smallest avian species in North America. It has been reclassified into the Selasphorus genus with Allen’s and Rufous-Hummingbirds.
