Spotted Dove

(Streptopelia chinensis)

Originally introduced into North America from Asia, Spotted Dove is uncommon and is presently found only in a local neighborhood in east Los Angeles and on Santa Catalina Island. It has a very loud three-syllable call and a namesake white-spotted black nape.
