Stilt Sandpiper

(Calidris himantopus)

Stilt Sandpiper is recognized by its long yellow legs and decurved bill. It is seen in the lower US only during migration as its breeding territory is in the farthest northern reaches of North America, along the Arctic Ocean and the coast of Hudson’s Bay.
