White-tailed Ptarmigan

ABA 2

(Lagopus leucura - formerly Lagopus leucurus)

White-tailed Ptarmigan is found at high altitude, above the tree line, on open tundra. It is always perfectly camouflaged – pure white against the snow in winter, and speckled gray and white in summer to perfectly blend in with the rocks.
