Chipping Sparrow

ABA 1

(Spizella passerina)

Chipping Sparrow has one of the most widespread ranges of all North American sparrows. In breeding plumage it is unmistakable with its bright rufous crown and crisp black eye line, although in winter it can be difficult to distinguish from Clay-colored Sparrow, its close relative.
